I received this question on social media the other day:

Carol, any tips to aid falling asleep faster other than tapping? I use oils, reiki, and meditation.

That is such a great question.

Everything listed above is what I would consider external resources. Something outside of ourselves that we use or rely on to give us the outcome we are looking for, in this case, falling asleep more quickly.

External resources can certainly be beneficial, however they are not enough on their own. We also need to focus on developing our internal resources in order to give our body the best chance of falling asleep quickly and easily.

In this week’s video, I talk about the different ways in which we can develop our internal resources by listening to our body’s biological cues so that we can fall asleep faster.

In all of my work I emphasise the importance of consistency. Creating a consistent sleep schedule and finding ways to reduce your daily accumulated stress will improve the quality of your sleep. No question.

To enjoy better sleep, you have to be willing to do something different in order to get a different result. If you aren’t prepared to create a consistent sleep schedule, and you aren’t prepared to work on reducing stress in your life, then your chances of succeeding in getting better quality sleep won’t be very high.

Watch the video and see if there are any small changes you can integrate into your daily life to start building stronger internal resources. That way you may fall asleep more quickly, stay asleep all night and wake up feeling refreshed the next morning.
