We had a really wonderful, heart-opening call this week discussing how we can find strength for ourselves and others during an animal’s transition.
Some of our top tips include:
– If you are the one who has lost an animal friend, reach out to others to hold space for you. This can be one of the hardest times of our lives, so it’s important to have support.
– Look to the animals for support, too! They will be there for you and WANT to be there for you! Just ask them for their help. This is something humans rarely do, and they love to be seen as healers!
– With our practice (the precepts, All is Well and our meditations), we can transcend the pain by focusing on the present moment and our breath. When you connect deeply with your animal, calm your body, and slow your breath, you can help them transcend the pain and find peace.
– When speaking to someone who has lost an animal, have empathy and compassion. Ask how they are doing and if they need anything. Allow them to share about their animal friend. Be a good listener and hold space for them. Holding space is when we ground ourselves with our meditation and let go of all thoughts of fixing.
– Use the guided meditation Jamie shares at the end of the call to help bring peace to your heart when an animal transitions.
During the call, Jamie also shared a very unique ritual for animals of people who have passed.
Be sure to listen to find out how she uses a nightlight light to light the way for an animal that is passing/has passed and for their person to help guide them through their pain.
Michelle, a wonderful animal communicator, shared how the animals shared with her that when they pass, they don’t want us to be sad and beat ourselves up. They want us to pay our love forward and spread it to the animals who are here.
There were many other wonderful suggestions shared by attendees. One of the things we love about our meetings is this beautiful community and how we all come together to share and support each other.
