Home Decorating Tips to Elevate the Mood Using the 5 Senses

57

Today we’re diving into decorating with the 5 senses. Perhaps you’ve never heard of this concept before; however, the top interior designers must consider them when designing beautiful (expensive) luxury hotels. They understand that in order for you to have an enjoyable stay, then they must be sensitive to this concept.

Having worked in luxury condo development for over a decade in NYC, I am exposed daily to the top interior designers of the world. I see first hand how they curate a space with luxury in mind, some of it I agree with and some of it I don’t.

Too many times we focus purely on the visual with interior design but the experience goes well beyond just sight. When we consider the other senses (touching, smelling, tasting, hearing) we have the ability to take our home from just another pretty place to a home that actually makes YOU feel beautiful!

In this video I will discuss some common mistakes we can make and how to fix them to create that luxurious feeling as well as offer my personal faves as a starting place for you to go further.

I hope to inspire you! It’s the perfect time of the year to make some lovely changes in your home.

Oh before I forget—for the month of April, I will be going live on YouTube at 7pm EST to answer your décor and design questions. Mark your calendars babe!

Be sure to find me on Instagram @christinadistefanostudio to submit your questions. Don’t worry you won’t be on camera to have your question answered—BUT you must DM me in advance to do so!

FOUNDATIONS OF CREATIVITY PLAYLIST

ABOUT ME:
Hey I’m Christina DiStefano! I am sort of a jack-of-all-trades: artist, sales director for a top NYC real estate development company, certified life coach, yoga instructor, Reiki practitioner, artist (I’m a painter), businesswoman–and now I’m taking on Interior Design via a certification (I’m starting an Interior Design firm in 2024 lovingly called Casa Serenità Interiors). Oh and did I mention I’m leading the renovation of our country home (inside and out)?!

I believe that home is a sacred place that we nurture, and in return, it nurtures us. That being said, my design process is focused on creating a sanctuary, a place of serenity that truly feels like home.
