This week, our topic was “How to Find the Motivation and Courage to Talk About Animal Reiki.” Talking about animal reiki can sometimes be challenging. You’re super excited to share about this amazing modality but when you use the word Reiki or say you meditate with animals, you aren’t getting the response you are looking for in your audience.
In this session, I covered some effective tips to help you explain what Animal Reiki is and get a receptive audience! I also created some helpful handouts for you!

– How to talk about Animal Reiki in simple terms. Click here for a quick overview of the LAL method that explains the benefits for both people and animals. This overview is not shelter specific so be sure to check it out.
– Kathleen has a great question for all of us to ask ourselves when it comes to supporting animals in the shelter. Be sure to listen to the replay so you can hear what that is! It’s a great motivator!
– Why studies about meditation are more appropriate to share than Reiki studies. Here is a link to a fun study about mindfulness and dogs.
– How to handle difficult situations when sharing about Animal Reiki. Really appreciate Judy sharing an enlightening experience about religious objections to Reiki. To help you practice with hearing a no and what a possible response might be, I created this document for you.
