We had a wonderful time this week coming together to talk about how we can overcome negative emotions when we support animals who are suffering from trauma. We had some informative discussions about the difficulty of overcoming our emotions.
Our top tips for creating inner strength and the ability to hold a loving space for animals in traumatic situations are:
– The All is Well mantra (practiced daily)
– Reciting the Precepts daily
– Breathing into your heart or the hara (belly)
We recommend using these tools every day for yourself so that when you sit with an animal that has come from a traumatic background or is still experiencing trauma, you can be their rock and help them step into love and joy from fear and sadness.
Repeat the All is Well mantra three times in the morning when you wake up and in the evening before you close your eyes. Do the same with the precepts! And when you are feeling stressed or off balance, always breathe deeply into your belly or heart and slowly release the breath out your mouth.
All of these tools will bring you peace, and you will then be able to easily share that peace with the animals!
We go live every Wednesday at 10:30 am PT. If you would like to join us live, you can join here:
