Does karma depend upon your intentions or your actions? Karma is based on both the intentions and actions behind the intentions. This is because the actions arise from intentions only, they are not independent. If you don’t put in into action, this noble thought will make you a better person, someone will probably wish you well and next time you may be able to act on it. Suppose you put that intention into practice and perform charity, daan, then that is called punya karma. Intention is turned into action. It will give more merit than just well-wishing. But both matter.
